That Hardworking Father

May 2026, 17-24th is being celebrated as the Laudato Sii week globally. This year’s theme is from hope to action. 

Now, Br. Kiyamaba from Uganada is giving a perfect example for all to follow. 

He came to Busugni, Capuchin parish as the new parish priest. When he saw the poverty of the people, he started several new initiatives to alleviate the poverty of the people. 

He started a coffee plantation in the five acer property of the house. This became a model for others He also started other initiative like biogas project to save forest because the people were cutting trees for cooking. All these things captured the attention of the local MP. He invited the President of Uganda to visit the farm. Ever after visiting the farm the president beame a fan of Fr. Kiyamaba and he talks about him in all the meetings as 

“that hardworking father“.
